Here's a thread to talk about what we've been reading - stuff for school, stuff for the heck of it, whatever.
Me? I finished The Right Man for the Job by Mike Magnuson a few days ago. It was okay, not really anything to write home about.
After that, I read Jim the Boy by Tony Earley. It was really, really good. After I read about 50 pages, I got online and bought a copy for my mom. I can't imagine anyone not liking this book. In fact, whether or not someone likes this book may be a good way to gauge whether or not they are a good person.
Now I'm about 60 pages into The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. So far so good. I mean, so far soooooooooooooo good. Here's a sample from the title story:
"After five minutes, Lieutenant Jimmy Cross moved to the tunnel, leaned down, and examined the darkness. Trouble, he thought - a cave in maybe. And then suddenly, without willing it, he was thinking about Martha. The stresses and fractures, the quick collapse, the two of them buried alive under all that weight. Dense, crushing love. Kneeling, watching the hole, he tried to concentrate on Lee Strunk and the war, all the dangers, but his love was too much for him, he felt paralyzed, he wanted to sleep in her lungs and breathe her blood and be smothered. He wanted her to be a virgin and not a virgin, all at once. He wanted to know her."
Holy crap that's good!
After I'm done I'm going to finish Labyrinths and then Winesburg, Ohio.
Well, that's it for now.
What about you guys? is what I'm dying to know.

Due to my recent workload I have only been able to justify casual readings, such as Cash's autobiography and some comic books.

I was reading "Cathedrals," but I think I lost it. Sorry, Matt!
I'm also still not quite finished with "A Good Man is Hard to Find," so I'm reading that. I suck at book club.
I started "The Blind Watchmaker."
I read Mel's magazines when I'm at their house.
I bought two Edna St. Vincent Millay books the other day, so, pretty excited about that.

I was reading "Cathedral s," but I think I lost it. Sorry, Matt! The real tragedy is that you're probably not going to finish it now. But the real tragedy is that you lost my book. Half.com me a hardcover and I won't be really, really mad at you. First edition, please. And first printing, too. Signed. And make sure you get "Cathedral," not "Cathedral s." Anyway, I'll bet you're all wondering what I've been reading. Well, I finished The Things They Carried and it was fantastic. Read it! I'd borrow it to you, Michelle, but you always lose my books when I borrow them to you. Now I have about 30 pages of Vision Quest to finish, then it's on to My Friend Leonard by James Frey, which I'm like, waaaaaaaaaaay stoked for. Billy says it picks up where pretty much exactly where Million Little Pieces left off. Dope.

Okay. I'll probably find it, though. Did you start "The Little Prince" yet? Will you get me a Christmas present?
